The NDA registered a landslide victory in Bihar, with the BJP securing 89 seats and the JD(U) close behind with 85, delivering a heavy blow to the Mahagathbandhan. The RJD, Congress, and Jan Suraaj failed to make the impact they had hoped for, with Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj unable to win even a single seat despite an extensive campaign.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing jubilant supporters at the BJP headquarters, described the result as a vote for “true social justice,” where every household receives opportunity, dignity, and equality. He repeatedly targeted the RJD and Congress, asserting that the NDA’s dominant performance in Bihar has created strong momentum for the BJP as it heads into the 2026 West Bengal elections.
